Title
Letter from Mr Chapman, Armstrong Siddeley Motors, to Sir Roy Dobson Avro: Sapphire powers and fuel consumption figures
Date
7 November 1952
Description

Para 2: I would like to re-affirm that at the time I was talking about engines that do not exist, but engines we had under contemplation some time in the future. I am not sure how far you are looking ahead for engines for the Vulcan....but for the next 1/2 years the best we can offer is the fully developed Sa.7 is 11,00lbs thrust take-off etc. The best performance that we have to date on the Sa.4 is 10,400lbs thrust- take-off etc. The latest Olympus figures are 11,000lbs thrust. The report is very technical
