Description (What the record is about)
-
Letter from J.P. to W.P.G. stating that the purchaser is "not very much in love with his bargain". He has taken exception to the view that he is liable to discharge all current obligations incl the rent & coal accounts as they stood on 2 June. Thus he hesitated to pay the balance of the purchase money into Court. J.P. has overcome these difficulties, "provoking a very stupid jealousy on Mr Fitter's part at what he considers my inteference in his province.", and the money has been paid in. The purchaser will take up the new leases and pay the amount due for coal & rent up to June, without prejudice. J.P. would like a copy of the Bank account from 2 June to the present time. The £1500 deposit should now go into Court. The only step likely to cause delay now is the taxation of the costs, which with the consent of all parties may be dispensed with.
