Description (What the record is about)
-
The Company was incorporated in 1946, apparently inheriting the Southsea hire, excursion and touring business of J G Wyatt. From an early stage, with other small coach companies, it was a subsidiary of Hants & Sussex Motor Services Ltd., until that company went into liquidation in 1955. In 1957 Southdown Motor Services Ltd. acquired control, and took over completely in 1959 when Triumph went into voluntary liquidation. Shortly before this the Company had bought out Unity Coaches Ltd.
