This accumulation consists mainly of title deeds (some original bundles, but generally loose deeds) for properties in Ilminster and neighbouring parishes. As there was no trace of any arrangement by clients or families, these have been artificially arranged topographically for convenience of access.
There are also smaller groups of documents representing offices held by the Baker family as clerks to the Ilminster Turnpike Trustees and the Ilminster School Trustees. Other records have been received from this firm in their capacity as clerks to the Justices and to the Tax Commissioners and have been treated separately (Accession C/911).
