'Mr John Robinson Pedder one of the Lessees of the Stowe Mine, has called on us with the Defdt this morning and left us his copy of the Articles of Association of the Stowe Iron Co. which it appears is composed of the Lessees of the mine with the addition of Chas Edwards and T Brandt.
'Mr JR Pedder saw he consulted his solicitor Mr Catterick of Throgmorton Street as to the position of the Lessees by reason of the proceedings against our client for the arrears of Kent, when he advised that as the Pltff had hitherto looked to The Stowe Iron Co. for the rent, and had now shed our client, that the Lessees could take possession of the property under the lease and dispose of it to the best advantage. It appears that the mine is properly worked and capable of yielding a good profit, and that the only way of getting rid of the present difficulty would be the Lessees to purchase from the Stowe Iron Co. any property that is not included in the lease and then that the Lessees should sell their interest on raise capital to carry on the works - Mr J R Pedder says he thinks the pltff would give time to make arrangements. We send a copy lease and articles of Association and will thank you to let us have your opinion of the matter'.
