Lease from Sir Fowlke Grevyle of Beauchampscourte co. Warwick kt. to Godfrey Morlen of Longstawnton co. Cambs. yeoman in consideration of a fine of £24 of a messuage wherein he then dwelt and lands in Longstaunton St. Michaels for 21 years at a rent of £4 per annum, payable to the said Sir Fowlke Grevyle and his heirs, or for want of such heirs to the heirs of Dame Elizabeth Grevyle mother of the said Sir Fowlke, or to the heirs of Sir Robert Willowgby kt. late Lord Brooke and Lady Dorothie his wife, or to the right heirs of the said Lord Brooke. Certain conditions were laid down respecting husbandry, and in addition the tenant undertook during the said term to be ready by himself or some able person for him to serve the said Sir Fowlke or his heirs in the wars whensoever he or they should be called to serve the Queen's majesty, and to pay all subsidies, tenths, fifteens, taxes, duties, charges and payments due on the said premises; and he undertook not to assign or set over the premises or any part of them to Henry Holforde esq. or any other inhabitant of Longstaunton without special licence in writing.
