Description (What the record is about)
-
Enrolment of recognizances of butchers not to kill or dress meat in Lent. The first recognizance for each day is written in full followed by 'on the same day came ...' and giving the name, parish amount bound and names and parishes of sureties. These probably follow an order of the Privy Council, as for example that of January 1610.
