Description (What the record is about)
-
Mr. Mackworth, after complaining very much of Mr. Dickens bill says that this £100 debt was not for his own, but his brother Sir Humphrey's account who informs him that he can have what money he wants at £4% in London.
For that reason he has employed his agent in town to procure it for him.
In a fortnight's time he will know the result of that negotiation and then time and place of payment shall be appointed. It is a bad time to borrow money in London at that interest. He has given his sister Margaret Hill her rings which Hill was pleased to send her, for which she is very thankful.
Mr. Griffith paid £87.17.5d. balance of Hill's account, for which Hill has Chambre's note. Tomorrow he will pay this sum of Mr. Powys and take his bill.
Directed for the Honble. Mr. Hill.
