<span class="wrapper"><p>The division of the Sackville (Dukes of Dorset) estates in the 19th century has led to the migration of the bulk of the records of this, the greatest landed estate in the history of East Sussex, to Knole in Kent. From there they have been deposited in the Centre for Kentish Studies, Maidstone (CKS, formerly Kent Archives Office), under reference U269.
