Description

This collection relates mainly to properties in North Petherton, Croscombe and Wedmore acquired by Jeremiah Dewdney Parsons of Croscombe.

The North Petherton properties were bequeathed to him by his great-uncle Jeremiah Dewdney, a lawyer, in 1776 (for his will, see DD\PLE/62). The Wedmore and Croscombe properties were acquired by his marriage in 1793 to Mary, daughter of William Singer, a Croscombe stocking-maker, and his wife Hannah Counsell of Wedmore.
