A collection of notebooks, journals, observations, letters and the typescript of "Arabian Highlands". The journal and notebooks cover his journey across the Empty Quarter (Al Rub al Khali) in 1932. Typewritten reports cover his motorised journeys around Saudi Arabia from 1946-1955. His observations formed the basis for maps of Arabia prepared and published by the RGS. Geographical subject headings: 1) ASIA, SOUTH-WEST 2) ARABIAN PENINSULA. 3) SAUDI ARABIA

Access is via the Society's Foyle Reading Room and is free to Members and Fellows of the Society and to those in formal education (proof of educational status required e.g. a student/staff card or formal letter of introduction from your institution). For all other visitors a & #163;10 daily access fee applies. All visitors are required to provide personal i.d. such as a driving licence or passport.
