The application form at this date records: full name, address, age, and marital status; present occupation; previous agricultural experience, whichis detailed on an accompanying sheet with dates and names of employers; details (with dates) of any recognised course of agricultural training or education; length of residence in the county; details of applications to other county councils; whether holding any agricultural land exceeding half an acre and, if so, from whom it is held; the extent of the holding and whether quitting (and, if so, when); where land is situated; whether the applicant undertakes to cultivate the holding personally; details of capital available to work the holding such as cash and value of stock and equipment owned; details of type of holding required, e.g. dairy, mixed, or market gardening; acreage required; full or part-time; district in which land is required; and names and addresses of two referees as to the applicant's character, experience, and fitness to have a smallholding.
