Records donated by Mr Dennis White, a former member of the Society, per Mr Ian Rawlinson, Assistant Director (Arts and Libraries Services).

Administrative / biographical background

The Utopian Operatic Society was founded in 1903 as a re-formation of the St Nicholas [Deptford] Operatic Society which began in 1898. In the period covered by these minutes the Society was presenting two or three light operas each year.
