Photocopy of the official ms War Diary (89pp) of the 28th Field Battery, 9th Brigade RFA (Meerut Division) in which he served, recording operations in which the unit took part in France (October 1914 - October 1915 and December 1917 - April 1919) and Mesopotamia (November 1915 - December 1917), together with ms appendices (25pp) of a more personal and occasionally light-hearted nature written in March - November 1916 by Captain H B Latham and containing an interesting description of conditions in March and April 1916 as futile attempts were made to relieve Kut el Amara plus useful details on the capture of the Hannah position, the first attack on Sannaiyat and the destruction of the 13th Division. Also held with the collection is a ts diary fragment (3pp) written by Sergeant F S A Kent of the same unit, December 1917 - February 1919, which contains an interesting description of the torpedoing of HMT KINGSTONIAN off Sardinia on 11 April 1918.
