Papers accumulated by the parish church of Doncaster St George in connection with the destruction of the church by fire on the night of 28 February 1853, and its subsequent reconstruction. The new church was designed by George Gilbert Scott, although Edmund Beckett, the future Lord Grimthorpe, had a significant influence.
