The first meeting of the Hastings & District Association of General Foremen and Clerks of Works (later known as the Hastings & District Association of Builders' Foremen and Clerks of Works), which had branched out from the Sussex Association, was held in June 1960. It was decided to change the name to the Hastings and District Association of Construction Supervisors at the 1965 Annual General Meeting
In Dec 1974 the Hastings & District Association of Construction Supervisors was dissolved, and became the Hastings and East Sussex Chapter of the new Institute of Construction Management. The Institute was founded in 1974 to further the interests of practising management in the building industry, and to provide recognised national standards of experience and training for its membership. It was formed from an amalgamation of The Provident Institute of Building Foremen and Clerks of Works, and The National Association of Construction Site Supervisors
The Hastings and East Sussex Chapter was known as the Hastings, East Sussex and Kent Centre from Jan 1988; it was dissolved in March 1998
