His careful training of officers and men and sound discipline and interior economy have resulted in the attainment of an excellent and uniform standard throughout the battalion. His quick perception, foresight and cheerful readiness have been of great assistance in regulating tactical dispositions and his tact in dealing with commanders has overcome the initial difficulties met with, in introducing the new organisation" Recommended by Maj Gen Sir HS Jeudwine KCB, Cdg 55 Div.;
