Description (What the record is about)
-
He has acquainted Mr. Wingfield of what referred to his family in Hill's letter, and he has asked Chambre to attend the baptising of his daughter next Wednesday "But I wish you had directed me what sum I must distribute amongst his good women etc. I know what is customary for people of my own rank, but of yours I am a stranger". He will guide himself by what Hill has done in like cases. Mr. Sandford has paid his interest and Chambre has given him the mortgage and title deeds "Buy I have not yet heard from Mr. Noell or his Master Mackworth, wch makes me think their hurry of paying in the mony is abated" because they have scarce time to pay the assignment by the 30th which is their day. Mrs. Hill has a terrier of her lands at Hawkestone. When Chambre goes there next, he will discover the situation of the lands lately bought from Abraham Iken, but he does not think they lie commodious to either Foresters or Cawsars tenement.
Post script. Petton Church and rectory are £25, not £30 "I am told wee may obtain ye Queens Bounty without paying anything (for wee are poor and cannot afford it). He asks Hill's advice and assistance in the matter.
Directed for Hill at "Richmont".
