Under the East Sussex Review Order 1934, made as a result of the Local Government Act 1929, the civil parish of Bishopstone was abolished. Portions were added to the Urban districts of Newhaven and Seaford while the remainder was incorporated in the parish of South Heighton in Chailey Rural district. The parish council ceased to exist in April 1934 and its records vested in the successor authorities.
