Appointment of 2 pieces of land and a garden in Meole Brace

1. Edward Jeffreys of Shrewsbury, esq. a Cornet in the 3rd Dragoon Guards, devisee in the will and eldest son of Robert Jeffreys late of Shrewsbury, Esq., decd. by Elinor Jeffreys, wife, widow, which Robert Jeffreys was the only son and heir and devisee in the will of Edward Jeffreys late of Shrewsbury, Esq., decd.

5. William Coupland of the same, gent, another trustee of Edward Bather.

Robert Jeffreys, seised of the inheritance of a piece of land, garden etc. below, made his will 18 Feb. 1801 giving all his property to William Coupland, Hugh Owen and William Prissick on trusts for 1,000 years to the use of Edward Jeffreys, party, and his corporeal heirs, on trust to raise money for debts, and to raise an annuity of £200 for his wife for life and £5,000 for portions of the the testator's sons George Jeffreys, William Jeffreys and Richard Jeffreys and his daughters Sarah Jeffreys and Elizabeth Jeffreys.

A bargain and sale was enrolled 19 April last between Edward Jeffreys (1) Elinor Jeffreys (2) Richard Griffiths, gent (3) James Simcock, gent (4) Richard Lyster, Esq (5) Thomas Lloyd, gent, and Joseph Asterley, gent (6) and a common recovery, with Richard Lyster, demandant, Richard Griffiths, tenant, Edward Jeffreys, vouchee; and lease and release 19 & 20 July last between John Bather of Meole Brace, Esq (1) William Cludde, Hugh Owen and Wm Prissick (2) Edward Jeffreys (3) Charles Price Stanier, Esq (4) by which the said piece of land were conveyed to such uses as Edward Jeffreys should declare.

Edward Jeffreys has agreed with Edward Bather for the sale to him of the inheritance of the said pieces for £420. For that sum conveyance from Edward Jeffreys to Edward Bather of:-

2 pieces of meadow or pasture in or near Meole Brace called the Castle Bank and the Bylett (1a 3r 4p) (late Sam. Pritchard, decd. now Edward Bather); A piece of garden ground (22p) (late of --, now of the Revy Henry Campbell)

To hold to uses declared.

Covenant by Edward Jeffreys to produce title deeds.
