The ecclesiastical parish was officially combined with the parish of North Marden in 1933, though the two parishes appear to have been held together since 1875. Since 1942, both livings have been held by the incumbent of Compton with Up Marden. Some records for East Marden will therefore be found among those of Compton and Up Marden
