Description

Most of the letters were written to Lord William Bentinck during the years 1814 to 1827, following his departure from Sicily and prior to becoming Governor General of Bengal. Some of the letters relate to matters in Italy and India but most concern domestic and local matters, including the Fen Drainage Improvement 1818-16.

The letters are arranged in alphabetical order of correspondent.
