Title
Dr John Gauden [afterwards Bishop of Exeter, & of Worcester] to Ormond : written from Temple [London]
Date
26 June 1660
Description

Thanks the Marquess for the high favour of bringing the writer into the presence of the best of Kings, ... who is able to conquer and captivate even enemies. ...

Finds his Majesty's wisdom and gentleness so inclined to moderate counsels in Church affairs, that the writer doubts not of a happy & speedy settling in that great concern.

... Recommends [to Lord Ormond, as Lord Steward] Sir Robert Fenn, ... "a great sufferer, though a little man; and [so in MS.] paid £1,600 for the place [in the 'Acatry'].
