Roll of Honour (de Ruvigny) Vol II, Sect 1, p227: son of George Reeves, 6 Charteris Rd, Finsbury Park, by his wife Ellen. Born London 16/12/1895; educ DameOwen's Sch; joined QV Rifles 1/9/14;served BEF F&F from 4 Nov 1914, ret UK March 1917 and after period of training at Bisley gazetted 2Lt MGC. Ret France 26/9/17 and died atBailleul 30/12/17 from w. rec in action on prev. day. Buried at Bailleul. The chaplain wrote.." he had gone out quite early (an instance of his keeness) about 6am to visit some of his guns, of which he was in charge, and was wounded by a shell, which burst close to him. Of course he knew he was exposed to shell fire but that would not have made any difference to him. For him, called as he was in the midst of his voluntary and splendidly done work for his country, we ought not to grieve". Unmarried.
