The documents in this file were formerly in a portfolio (10) entitled:

At the time of listing, the file contained only one packet of documents, contained inside a wrapper marked "Flookborough." However, it is clear that there was formerly another packet of documents relating to the Liverpool Custom House. It is likely that these documents were extracted and transferred elsewhere while the Matthew Boulton Papers were in the custody of the Birmingham Assay Office, but it is no longer possible to ascertain what these documents were. (See, however, the Introduction to the file of General Correspondence, S to Z, 1837-1839.)
