To Luther Hart, then aged 15, from his father, and sister of 22 Clapton Square and from friends. Letters written to Luther while he was staying with Rev C.Philips at Neuvied in Prussia.
Three letters from his father, George Hart, an Australian merchant, two from his sister Annie (then aged 23), one from Walter Russell (friend working in Mincing Lane) and from W.D.Craven (school friend writing from 4 Upper Homerton). Letters from sister give news of Clapton families and siblings. The Russell letter refers to having given up bathing in the Lea 'as it is in such a beastly mess' and using Albion Baths.
