The Sudbury Market House Company was set up in 1841 and formally registered in 1844. It purchased and demolished the Coffee House Inn on Market Hill and built a Corn Exchange on the site in 1842. In 1926 the company was incorporated as the Sudbury Corn Exchange Company Limited; it was wound up in 1967
