'A Plan of Batacalo Roads'. Includes incomplete survey on reverse. Chart shows coastline, hydrography, anchorages including His Majesty's Ships Intrepid and Leopard, topography, vegetation, fortifications, land marks, sight lines, remarks including tidal observations. Manuscript. Watermark: 'J Whatman, 1801'. Latitude and longitude referred to in remarks; north point with compass indicator. Scale: 6 inches to 2 miles. Attributed to Timothy Curtis, Master, Royal Navy by annotation and by Beacher. Annotated in black ink: '1814, Received from Mr Curtis Master RN, for the Hydrographical Office' and in pencil: 'Ceylon'. Carries Becher's red 'M' classification mark
