Description

Draft of Seddon's letter to the Archdeacon.

The question resolves itself into this 1. Seddon has agreed to put his visitation of the third portion for six months in the year against the rector of the third portion having to do anything with parish church at Pontesbury.

2. The areas to be exchanged on each side of the railway are practically identical.

3. The only crux is Asterley Church, for which the rector of the third portion has offered to give £54 10s. Mr. Seddon practically agreed at their first meeting at Pontesford House that he would accept £50 for taking the duty, and said he could get it taken for a guinea axSunday.

If Mr. Furley prefers to live at Cruckmeole he must do so, but what they want for the good of the people is some permanent arrangement so that in case Mr. Furley gives up the new incumbent could have something definite put before him before he accepted the living. It would not do for any new man to come to some new arrangement with Mr. Seddon such as happens now to the detriment of the parish and parishioners.
