'An Accurate Map of the Beautiful Lake of Ulls-Water'. 2 editions of the same plan.

1) Includes two views: 1) 'Two Pikes upon the south end of Place Fell as seen from the higher part of Patterdale'; 2) 'A NE [north east] view of Dunmallet (Mr Hasell's) having a Roman encampment upon its summit'. Includes one sketch: 1) 'Lyulph's Tower now the Earl of Surrey's'. Map shows coastline, hydrography, roads, settlements, buildings, land marks and remarks. Printed. Latitude and longitude referred to in remarks. North point (orientation to south east bearing south). Scale: 2.9 inches to one mile. By Peter Crosthwaite, Admiral at Keswick Regatta, April 1783; engraved by H Ashby; published 16 June 1783. Republished with additions 1 December 1788; sold by Peter Crosthwaite. Annotated with black ink: '(earlier edition same No [number] and Folio)'.
