Description

The collection comprises a folio containing photographs, mounted photographs, and mounted photocopies of published extracts on Wrencote, an early eighteenth century house in Croydon, Greater London, called "the finest house in Croydon" by Pevsner. The name derives from a local belief that Sir Christopher Wren had a hand in its design, although there is no known evidence to support the idea that he was the architect.

The folio appears to have been compiled in the early 1950s and contains material detailing the history and condition of the house. The file was possibly produced as part of a survey or recording project, prior to the resoration of the house.
