see report of attack on 1/7/1916 - 93 Coy War Diary - No 8 Gun team: "there was a Lewis Gun and some magazines lying beside this team and on account of them being short of belt boxes for their Vickers they used the Lewis gun and fired it in turn - 1st Private Whitehead, 2nd L/Cpl Watson, 3rd Pte Mitchell, and 4th Sgt Duke who was killed after he had knocked out an enemy MG team. As there were no magazines left and everyone retiring, they brought their gun and tripod back to the front line trench. Lost 1 Sgt and 3 men";
