Letter of Solomon Morales, Provincial Grand Secretary, Kingston, Jamaica to Robert Leslie, Grand Secretary expecting a response to one letter delivered by Sampson Lucas and another to Messrs Newton and Levy seeking a warrant to establish a Lodge as Union Lodge [No. 1, Provincial, SN 1166] has too many members. Proposes officers as Solomon Morales, Worshipful Master, David Yanches, Senior Warden and Abraham Pereira Mendes, Junior Warden. Mentions sepding fifty pounds to acquire jewels for the proposed new Lodge. Only require a warrant as there are numerous copies of the Books of Constitutions in Kingston and they can prepare local by laws. Messrs Newton and Levy will pay expenses for the warrant as requested by Sampson Lucas. All proposed Lodge members are already registered and therefore no additional expenses to pay. Morales seeks a letter for the Government in Jamaica addressed to the store of John Hinde, merchant, Kingston, Jamaica.

Provincial Grand Lodge, No. 1 was granted a warrant by the Antients' Grand Lodge on 1 June 1796 to meet as No. 301 at the Masons' Hall, Port Royal Street, Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies. The Lodge was erased at the time of the union between the Antients' and Moderns' Grand Lodges to form the United Grand Lodge of England in 1813.
