'Forum' magazine was published by the World Congress of Faiths 'to promote a spirit of fellowship among mankind through religion and to awaken and develop a world loyalty'. Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury had been the first Vice-President of the World Congress of Faiths, a group which shared her beliefs in spiritual fellowship and international co-operation. Taylor Cadbury had presided over the first meeting of the Congress in 1936.
Following her death in December 1951, Mabel M. Sharples published an article in the magazine celebrating Taylor Cadbury's life and work. Sharples had been involved alongside Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury in her work with the National and International Councils of Women for many years published an article in the magazine celebrating Taylor Cadbury's life and work.
Defining Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury as a Quaker with Liberal political beliefs, Sharples emphasises that Taylor Cadbury's 'sympathies' reached 'far beyond political party, creed or nationality'. Remarking on Taylor Cadbury's deep interest in 'public service', Sharples writes 'equally at home in local, national and international spheres, she was always deeply conscious of spiritual values and kept pace with the religious and philosophical thought of the day'.
