Harmony, Lodge of, No. 275 [erased], Halifax

Annual returns giving names, age, professions and residence of members of Lodge of Harmony [Moderns].

Lodge of Harmony was granted a warrant by the Moderns' Grand Lodge on 6 November 1789 to meet as No. 552 [SN 1156], meeting at the the Angel Inn, Dean Clough, Halifax, Yorkshire. In 1792 it was renumbered as No. 461. In 1794 it relocated to the Bacchus Inn, King Street, Halifax, where it met until 1803. It then moved to the Lower George Inn, Crown Street, Halifax Inn. In 1814 at the union between the Moderns' and Antients' Grand Lodges to form the United Grand Lodge of England it received the number No. 517. In 1831 the Lodge moved to the Black Bull, Copper Street, Halifax and was renumbered as No. 342 in 1832. In 1837 the Lodge met in a private room in Huddersfield, Yorkshire before moving to the Masonic Hall, South Parade, Huddersfield. In 1863 the Lodge was renumbered as No. 275 under which number it continues to meet. In 1931 the Lodge moved to the Freemasons' Hall, Fitzwilliam Street, Huddersfield and in 2003 the Lodge relocated to the Masonic Hall, 26 Greenhead Road, Huddersfield, Yorkshire.
