Warrants to sheriff (to summon juries), inquisitions and adjudications, assessing compensation for property acquired for improvement of River Avon navigations, 1725 (copy), railways, 1838-1887, Cheltenham water works, 1844, Cheltenham street improvements, 1880-1884; and compensation for damage by the Bristol Dock Company to the Engine Mill alias Netham Mill, 1810.
This procedure for claiming compensation, as well as the deposit of warrants and inquisitions with the clerk of the peace, was normally provided for in the enabling Acts of the undertaking. It was made general by the Act of 8 & 9 Vict; c.18, s.50 (1845)
