Joanna Foster's working papers from the period when she was: Director of The Pepperell Unit (Women's Development) at The Industrial Society (1981-1987); Chair of the Equal Opportunities Commission (1987-1992); Founder and Director of the National Work-Life Forum (1998-2002). It includes material from lecture tours in Australia, the USA, and in Europe from the period when she was President of the European Commission's Equality Committee.

Joanna Foster CBE is an executive coach and a 'life' coach specialising in change and transition. She has also led many organisations in the UK and internationally. Most recently, she chaired the Crafts Council, the national development agency for contemporary craft, and the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, NHS Trust in Oxford, and was an Associate Fellow of the SAID Business School in Oxford where she directed a programme for NHS Chairs. Joanna also formerly chaired the Equal Opportunities Commission, the Lloyds TSB Foundation, and the National Work-Life Forum. She has worked in France, at INSEAD, the international business school, and in Pittsburgh, USA. She was Deputy Chair of Oxford Brookes and a Governor for ten years, and was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws by Oxford Brookes University in 1993.
