Description

Folio 104. Letter from Walter May Barton, Clerk to the Guardians of the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union, to the Local Government Board. He encloses particulars of the vaccination arrangements] proposed to be entered in the contract with Reginald L Mosley, the public vaccinator for the North Elmham district of the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union [not included. He believes the arrangements are the same as those approved for the former, deceased officer.
Annotated: '1, proceed as minuted on 9290/1885 below.
2. Acknowledge and say that the arrangements on schedule are not as he supposed, identical with those in force under the contract with the late PV [Public Vaccinator] and moreover are not such as the Board can approve. Say that the arrangements as now altered in pencil are those approved by Board on 22 August 1877 (58392/1877) and suggest that those arrangements should be adopted in the contract with the new PV [Public Vaccinator]. Return schedule and ask for contract. Request that before schedule is sent back columns 4 and 5 may be filled in. At same time say Mr Mosley must get a special certificate from one of the authorities [T or E], Sir M Sinclair [Edward R Sinclair] not having any authority to grant certificates, for purposes of regulations of 1 December 1859', 11 March 1885.
