Formed to acquire the undertaking of Robert Cain & Sons Ltd

Registered as Peter Walker (Warrington) and Robert Cain & Sons Ltd, on 27 September 1921. Name changed to Walker-Cain Ltd on 22 June 1946. Cain's brewery in Liverpool (the Mersey Brewery; currently (1993) owned by Higsons brewery) was sold in 1923 and all beer brewed thereafter at the Walkers Warrington brewery

A company report of 1932 (see M380PWK/4/2/1(e), below) describes Walker-Cain as the parent company with its main subsidiary being Peter Walker & Son
