Description (What the record is about)
-
The Commercial and Marketing department promoted private housing schemes and commerce within the designated area. To, this end they issued leaflets and press releases publicising the various ventures in which CLDC was involved. Some of these were of general interest while others were aimed at a particular sector. Local information sheets and pamphlets were issued periodically to the New Town residents to inform on the progress of particular areas of development while other leaflets were aimed at potential incoming companies and describe services and amenities in the designated area.
CLDC also marketed itself through an advertising agency, Bowden, Dyble and Hayes (BDH) and European Marketing Survey (EMS) who tested the efficiency of the strategy used.
Visits of politicians and other VIPs are included in this section and have been listed as NTC 12/4/1-24.
