Letter of John Neen, Worshipful Mster, Robert Huston, Senior Warden, James Campbell Junior Warden and Charles Chaplin, Secretary, unnamed Lodge held in the Royal Horse Artillery, Plough Inn, Colchester to Robert Leslie, Grand Secretary, 28 Token House Yard, London, requesting membership certificates for John Airy, Thomas Hawksley and Thomas Adams. Also seek the registration of joining members, John Coyle of Carland Lodge, No. 421, Dungannon, Co Tyrone, Grand Lodge of Ireland and Robert Wilson, of Lodge, No. 244, held in the 2nd Regiment of Foot, later Queen's Royal Regiment, West Surrey, Grand Lodge of Ireland. Send three pounds to cover registration and certificate expenses and debts to Grand Lodge. Endorsed with draft response by Robert Leslie junior, sending the certificates requested but seeking details of professions and residence of members. Also indicates the bank note sent was a forgery stopped by the bank and seeks payment in full and details from whom the forged note was obtained.

This unnamed lodge was granted a warrant by the Antients' Grand Lodge in 1809 as No. 156(B) in the Royal Horse Artillery Barracks, Colchester, Essex. In 1811 the Lodge moved to the Plough Inn, Plough Corner, Colchester. After the union between the Antients' and the Moderns' Grand Lodges in 1813 to form the United Grand Lodge of England, the Lodge met as No. 189. In 1814 the Lodge met at the Duke of York, Magadalen Street, Colchester. The Lodge was erased on 5 March 1828.
