Mrs. Kelly was put in touch with Manchester Studies through her daughter-in-law who answered the Granda appeal. Joan Kelly nee Lynch was born in Salford, her father William Thomas Lynch was born in Medlock St. (Hulme) and had various jobs on the railways and in factories - his last being wire spinning. He married donor's mother Martha nee Flood in 1917. She was also born in Medlock St. and was in service before the marriage. Donor married William Thomas Kelly.
