To UK April 1915 - L Gazette (Capt) for service with Regt (Ind Cav) in France. Att Suffolk Yeo 1915 - offered a Sqn and Majority, but Ind. Army refused to release him. Became MG instructor. Ind Cav Dec 1915 - joined 36 Jacob's Horse (MG Detachment - 90 men, 110 horses and 4 guns). Merged with Lucknow MG Sqn (2 i/c). London Gazette 11/7/1916 Capt MGC (aged 41) invalided from MG Sqn and passed for general service 3/11/1916. Joined MGC (Cav) Trg Centre, Maresfield Park, Uckfield on 1/1/1917 and embarked foe EEF for duty w. Indian Cav.;
