Description (What the record is about)
-
Has found a very good second-hand bookseller opposite the hairdresser in Hastings. Discusses portraits which are held at Ashburnham Place including the Duke of Newcastle, the Duke of Kent, the Ist Baron Ash[burnha]m. Hopes that RG's domestic difficulties will be settled soon. Discusses RG's gift of jewellery (as in AMS 6732/1/17-18): 'If I had Aunt Mary's figure, which heaven forbid! I should see it on my bosom ... but ... I refuse to grow like a bow window, even for the pleasure of contemplating it'.
