Official Conversations between the Church of England and the Methodist Church began in 1956, and in 1958 an Interim Statement on the course of the discussions was published. As well as the high-level discussions, conversations were encouraged at diocesan, parochial and circuit level. Through the process an number of Working Parties were established and several Reports published.
