Description (What the record is about)

All Nations Christian Centre is an Elim Pentecostal church. It was founded as Reading Elim Church in 1928, following a campaign by George Jeffreys, founder of the Elim Pentecostal movement. Its first church building, in Waylen Street, Reading, opened in 1933. The church moved into the former Anglican church of Reading St Saviour (which had closed in 1985) in Berkeley Avenue in 1987, and the name was changed to St Saviour's Christian Centre. The name All Nations Christian Centre was adopted in 2010, to reflect the multi-cultural nature of the diverse congregation.
The building was extended in 1990 to provide modern facilities, and a new annexe for youth and community work was constructed in 2018.
