Records have been transferred by East Yorkshire Borough of Beverley Council and East Riding of Yorkshire Council and consist of the following amalgamated accessions or part accessions: 1295, 1480, 4030, 4174.

St Martin's Cemetery was opened in 1861 and adjoined Cartwright Lane. The cemetery was administered by a joint Burial Board of St John and St Martin. The Beverley Corporation took over the St Martin's Burial Board and ground in 1904. Responsibility for the cemetery was transferred to the East Yorkshire Borough of Beverley Council in 1974 and then to East Riding of Yorkshire Council in 1996.
