Description (What the record is about)
-
He received Hill's from Eaton, and went yesterday to Hawkestone where he, to his surprise, found Joseph with a very large number of men and teams about him making a large deep pool where the brick pits were, contrary to Hill's directions. He has rebuked him and ordered him to choose but 4 labourers and to make up his accounts to that day with John Dicken. He also hired a team for him at 3/4d. a day. He has ordered Joseph to call for money from no-one but him to keep him out of his wild notions. He has marked out his work in restoring the old pool.
Chambre explains about the walk and the possibility of using the land see 112/. He saw Mr. Price who paid him Mr. Pratchetts bond money of £100 which he will pay to Mr. Powys when he next goes to Shrewsbury. Mr. Price and Mr. Sherrard are come to no resolution about the £1,500 which Hill later pretended to borrow. Mrs Hill had all her children with her - they are all well. Hill's nephew intends to return pretty soon for Cambridge.
Directed to the Honble. Mr. Hill.
