Mixed accounts and other papers, mostly personal and estate, of the Lee family of Hartwell and connections, 1648-1835, including summary medical case notes, 1792-99, and collection of literary autographs, 1738-1820

Description

These records were deposited by the National Trust. They are from the collection bequeathed to the National Trust by Mr N.E.S. Norris (d 1991), book dealer, of Brighton, who purchased the papers in the Hartwell House sale, 1939 (part of Lot 663). They complement a collection of papers of the Lee family already held at the Office (ref: D/LE)

The remainder of the papers which formed Lot 663 and which relate to other counties have been distributed to Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire Record Offices. See item 105 for details
