Mortgage: Samuel Barker of Lyndon, co. Rutland, esq., and Thomas Barker, of the same, gent., his son and heir apparent, of the first part, Mary Whiston of Fetter Lane, London, widow, of the second part, and Thomas Plaistowe, of Agmondesham alias Amersham, co. Buckingham, gent., Thomas Bassett of Fetter Lane, London, gent., George Whiston of Lyndon, gent., and John Whiston of St. Dunstan in the West, bookseller, trustees of said Mary Whiston, of the third part: recites a marriage settlement, dated 28th August 1734 on the occasion of the marriage of William Whiston, now deceased, and Mary Plaistowe, whereby William, the father, and John Plaistowe agreed to secure the sum of £500 each for the marriage portions, and a deed poll of the same date whereby, in part performance of the above, assigned to the above trustees of said Mary £400 secured by mortgage of divers lands in LYNDON, upon certain trusts: now, in consideration of the surrender by said Mary Whiston to said Samuel and Thomas Barker of said deed poll, Samuel and Thomas demise to said trustees certain lands in LYNDON: to hold for 500 years at pepper corn rent, and redeemable for £416 by 1st February 1743/(4).

(Endorsement): Discharge, dated 19th November 1759, of the above mortgage upon payment by Thomas Barker to John Whiston, one of the trustees, the sum of £412:6s:0d.
